INENA RETREAT APP
Book your vacation or group retreat today and escape into the unique, restorative experience of Inena retreat.
Overview
This mobile application was designed for users to learn about the Inena Retreat space and book their stay.

The app design was inspired by a current business venture that I wanted to bring to life that emphasizes a focus on nature, art, and community.

SPOTLIGHT
ON
GESTURES
My portfolio history so far has been built upon research practices, prototype iteration and testing - something I value highly in creating products. In contrast, this project was fueled purely by my excitement to learn and incorporate UI design techniques more precisely into my work processes as well as create more seamless product experiences. This project allowed me to focus more wholly on building brands hand-in-hand with user experiences.

RESEARCH
Competitive Analysis
I examined businesses and apps that provide similar services, noting prioritized content, design decisions regarding brand colors and fonts, as well as interaction designs and animations.
This helped me craft an itemized list of requirements that must be included within my design including a way for users to schedule their stay, browse available dates, make payments, and browse properties and reviews.
User Research
I executed a user survey that received feedback from 22 anonymous participants. The survey aimed to establish a baseline of potential user demographics as well as to attain a general idea of how users go about booking a getaway or retreat online. View the results here.

Affinity Mapping
I performed an Affinity Mapping exercise to identify and cluster similar pain points, frustrations, as well as enjoyable aspects that users identified during the survey to drive my early design decisions. This included notes such as

DEVELOPMENT
Rapid Prototyping
I performed three rounds of rapid prototyping - focusing on primary pages such as Welcome Screen, Home Page, Rental Property, Map, and Review Pages I first created hand-drawn wireframes, using symbols to emphasize how the screens would connect and relate to one another with interactions or animation ideas.
User Flows
With the aid of my low-fidelity prototypes and research analysis I created a few loose personas that guided my build of potential user flows. I included the screens I had ideated and connected them with motivations and actions that potential users may follow.
Hi Fidelity Development
After reviewing my low-fidelity prototypes I began bringing them to life in Figma. I crafted what shapes I would be utilizing and began to hone in on color schemes, fonts, and imagery. I then built on my original mobile designs and created a desktop version, keeping in my specific breakpoints and trending design schemes.

FINALIZATION
I performed three rounds of rapid prototyping - focusing on primary pages such as Welcome Screen, Home Page, Rental Property, Map, and Review Pages I first created hand-drawn wireframes, using symbols to emphasize how the screens would connect and relate to one another with interactions or animation ideas.

Organization & Hand-Off
Once user testing is complete and iterations and improvements have been made - I'll be organizing all project assets including images, font styles, and content cards in a single area to ease transition and hand-off to development teams.
